How is the Utah market?

As I talk with family, friends, neighbors, and strangers the same question always comes up: "How is the market right now?" It's a good question; you hear all sorts of stories in the media about "recessions," "declining market," "declining real estate market," "forclosures," etc. On a national level the market is extremely down, but what about here in Utah. In Utah the market is extremely good for some and not so good for others, let me explain.
Right now there are over 7,000 homes that are listed just in Salt Lake County. A year ago at this time, there were about 4,000 homes listed in Salt Lake County. This can make selling your home a difficult process there is a lot of competition out there. I would recommend if you are selling your home right now or want to sell your home in the near future, that you pick a company and an agent that will "go the extra mile."
Selling homes can be a little bit difficult right now, but what about buying? This is where it gets really good! Right now Utah is a good buyers market. What makes a good buyers market? A good buyers market consists of a huge supply of homes and low interest rates. Right now interest rates are low and our supply of homes is great. Buyers have power right now. If buyers can't make a deal work, they can move on to many other homes.
